Today we have all gathered here to talk about a very important topic - plastic pollution. This is a problem that is seriously affecting our environment and our future.
Plastic has become an integral part of our lives. From the toothbrush in the morning to the food container at night, plastic is everywhere. But have we ever thought about where the plastic we throw away goes?
Every year, millions of tons of plastic waste end up in our oceans, rivers, and on land. This waste harms marine life, makes the soil barren, and also pollutes our drinking water. Plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose completely, and during this time it breaks down into even more dangerous small pieces called microplastics. These microplastics are entering our bodies through our food and water.
So, what is the solution to this problem?
The solution is very simple and is in our own hands. We have to adopt the principle of 3 R's:
* Reduce: First of all, reduce the use of plastic. Stop using single-use plastic such as plastic bags, straws, and bottles. Carry a cloth bag for shopping and keep your own water bottle with you.
* Reuse: Instead of throwing away plastic items, reuse them. Use a plastic bottle to fill water or a container to keep something.
* Recycle: Properly recycle the plastic that is essential to use so that it can be used again.
Reducing plastic is not just a government or institutional responsibility, but our own personal responsibility. We have to make small changes. By taking one step at a time, we can all make a big difference.
Let us all pledge together that we will contribute to making India plastic-free. Let's build a clean and healthy future for our children and future generations.
